Stainless steel grade 8.8 screws refer to the strength grade of the screw. The tensile strength of this type of screw material is within 800 megapascals, while the yield strength is 640 megapascals. The performance grades of bolts used for steel structure connections are divided into more than 10 grades, including 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9, 12.9, etc. Among them, bolts with grade 8.8 and above are made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium carbon steel and undergo heat treatment (quenching, tempering), commonly known as high-strength bolts, while others are commonly known as ordinary bolts. The bolt performance grade number consists of two parts of numbers, which respectively represent the nominal tensile strength value and yield strength ratio of the bolt material.
Common materials: 4.8 grade A3 Q235, Q195 and other low carbon steel (the most common). All materials above grade 5.8 Q235 are acceptable and do not require heat treatment. 8.8 grade thread diameter below 16MM, 35 # quenched and tempered heat treatment, 16mm above, 45 # and low-carbon alloy steel quenched and tempered treatment. 10.9 grade medium carbon alloy steel quenched and tempered heat treatment 35CRMO, 40CR, etc.
