The characteristics of A4-70 include better corrosion resistance than 304 stainless steel, and it has excellent corrosion resistance in the production process of pulp and paper. Moreover, 316 stainless steel is resistant to the erosion of oceans and corrosive industrial atmospheres. 316 stainless steel has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use below 871 ° C (1600 ° F) and continuous use above 927 ° C (1700 ° F). Within the temperature range of 427 ° C-857 ° C (800 ° F-1575 ° F), it is advisable not to use 316 stainless steel continuously. However, when using 316 stainless steel continuously outside of this temperature range, it exhibits good heat resistance.
